day 29.

VERSAILLES.

It was another early morning! First... Darwin and Sausie (nicknames) told us we should probably pack some lunches before we head to Versailles because it was pretty pricey over there. So we ran downstairs, quickly ate breakfast and I ran off to the closest bakery for some sandwiches for lunch. The one across the street wasn't even open yet so I ran to the next one a little further away. After rushing to get to our meeting spot on time, we headed to the train. When I woke up that morning, I felt like something was going to go wrong, I just knew it! And to my luck the girls left me in charge of carrying our lunch... but sadly I left those delicious looking sandwiches on the train!! Whoops! I felt horrible and we thought we were going to starve for the rest of the day, but luckily our nice friends shared some of their lunches with us :)

Here I am, standing at the golden gates of Versailles!

this is the backside of the main palace of Versailles

while waiting for our tickets to get in, everyone was so excited and a little hyper so this is what we did...

nice legs Changmok ;)

the gardens we absolutely breathtaking!

as you can tell, I'm a little obsessed with doors and doorknobs

a cool tree there, it reminds me of cotton candy

there were so many cute cottages there!

broken staircase

we were jumping and sliding all over the place on these floors

so Darwin and I decided to creep around the floor as well

this was the #1 tourist of the day

one of my absolute FAVORITE rooms I've seen! mainly because of the cheetah print carpet and peachy sofa

all about the detail :)

the famous hall of mirrors :)

it was amazingly gorgeous in there! but I wish there weren't so many people, it was crazy in there!!

this gorgeous couple were taking wedding photos with a huge camera crew

I was so excited to be there!!

oh hey there! ps check out that AMAZING detail work!!

some of the flooring outside. so cool!

On the way home, we were sketching random things and people.. then I creeped a sketch of this man and gave it to him... too bad the flash washed out the pic, but it was a nice cap to our Versailles trip. Afterwards we were starving!! So we decided to try out this burger place called Kong (Darwin suggested it to us) he said it was "kind of by the Pompidou and by some water" so we decided to venture out and find it. Good thing we had Darwin's horrible details of it's where-abouts, we searched high and low for that dang place and nobody knew where it was! As we walked further and further, everyone started getting crankier and crankier. We ended up walking miles away from the metro and found ourselves in some random ghetto china town type area. So we finally just gave up, went to a little market and bought some chocolate to calm ourselves down. It was like an instant happy pill! The moment a little chocolate touched our tounges we were pretty much good to go for another 5 mile walk! Once we finally made it home, we stopped at this cute little pizza place and ate some very interesting pizza with egg on it and random other stuff. It was a good experience though :)

day 28.

It started out as a rainy day, we were supposed to go to Versailles, but Darwin & Sausie decided it would be better to go tomorrow because it's supposed to be nice and sunny. So instead we went to Sacre Coeur which is a church at the highest point of Paris. We jumped on the Metro and made our stop at Mulan Rouge of course!! We snapped a few pics and began our little hike up to the top of the hill, on the way we saw a lot of fun little shops and an adorable cupcake shop that we told ourselves we would come back to on the way down. It was fun to see all the little houses and cobble stone roads, but once we got to the top, it was a spectacular view!
Marlin Monroe style

some cute little children clothes I found in the window

I also loved all the graffiti art all over the place!

here is a view from the top, the buildings went on forever!

Sacre Coeur

just scaring the pigeons

So... funny story. I was walking and some random so called "street artist" came up to me and asked if he could draw me, he said he was so inspired to draw me and said he wanted to do it for 50 euro. um.... YEAH RIGHT! But he kept persisting and like an idiot I let him do it for 10 euro... and this is what he drew. Looks just like me right?? haha

Danielle got her's done by an actual artist and it looked just like her!

On the way back down from Sacre Coeur we came across the most adorable little boutique! They paper mached their hangers with newspaper and magazin articles and just had the cutest style ever! I wanted to buy everything there!! I did get a cute little cookbook for my sister there :)

And... like we told ourselves we made it back to the cute little cupcake place and enjoyed some delicious little cupcakes!

all gone.

p.s. I forgot to mention that I also got fined 50 euro for jumping the rail at the metro because none of my tickets were working and there was no one at the help desk, and my group was leaving me & Danielle because they thought we were right behind them. I'll have to get in more detail about it later. We will just say there was a little argument with the French police and a lot of confusion between both parties because neither of us spoke each others language. It was very annoying. So advice to any of you who want to travel to France, DON'T JUMP THE METRO! Although I saw a million people do it, they target Americans.
